Something made just for you

Not everything fits. Not every room is standard, not every brief is off-the-shelf, and not every customer wants what everyone else has. That's where bespoke comes in.

As well as our range of handmade stock pieces, Ben takes on a limited number of bespoke commissions each year — furniture designed and built specifically for you, in your chosen timber, to your exact dimensions.

What We've Made

Over the years Ben has taken on all kinds of commissions, including:

  • Dining tables resized to fit a specific room
  • Cabinets built into alcoves and awkward recesses
  • Storage furniture matched closely to existing pieces in a home
  • Under-stairs storage and shelving
  • Made-to-measure wardrobes and bedroom furniture
  • A table base crafted from a customer's own log

If you can describe it, there's a good chance Ben can build it.

The Process

Every bespoke commission starts with a conversation. Ben will discuss your brief, take measurements if needed (site visits are available across southern Worcestershire, east Herefordshire, and Gloucestershire), and talk through timber choices, finishes, and any specific requirements.

From there, Ben will provide a quote and, once agreed, your piece enters the making schedule. Bespoke commissions typically have a lead time of 3–4 weeks from confirmation, depending on complexity and current workload. You'll be kept informed throughout.

When your piece is ready, it can be collected from the workshop in Staunton, Gloucestershire, or delivered directly to you.

Materials

Ben works primarily in solid hardwoods — oak, cherry, maple, and walnut — all selected by hand for grain, figure, and character.

If you have a specific timber in mind, or even your own wood you'd like to use, get in touch and we'll discuss what's possible.
